Missing in action!

I won't be able to post the usual nightly blog today as I will be away from base!  I'm off to Dartmouth for the evening to see an old friend - well he's significantly younger than me but he worked for the Extramural Centre as an Instructor in the days when I had a job!  Mac now works as a yacht captain on very large boats that people pay a lot of money to cruise round various oceans in - nice work if you can get it!  With my new found skills in the kitchen, perhaps this will be an opportunity for him to employ me as the ships cook - I bet there's a limerick or two there - "There was an old sea dog called Dave.....please feel free to complete and send me the results!
In the mean time I'm steeling myself for a day of lentils, pulses, vegetables and NO meat!  I'll leave you with some nice pictures of Mac's yacht, Andromeda!

  1. An unemployed teacher called Dai,
Was famed as a 'large' type of guy,
    He learnt how to cook,
Through a course and a book,
He can now make and eat all the pie!

  2. A life on the large ocean waves,
Was a dream and notion of Dave’s
So he made a captain some toast,
And he now has a post,
As one of four cheaply paid galley slaves!
